VIDEOLAB / By Bouscout Designer
The frayed edges of the public space is the area Bouke Bruins works in. Under his alias Boyscout Designer he is uniting the world of design with the world of the boy scouts by creating playful interventions. His starting point is that the (over-)shaping of public space leads to extreme regulation which in turn makes users passive. Boy scouts are taught to engage with their environment in an active and responsible manner. The Boyscout Designer is a model for Bouke Bruins to explore his opportunities as a designer.

For my contribution to Name’s Nano Graffiti project I have carved a nano size heart for my wife, with our names in it. This common act of affectionate graffiti is often made for the world to see. A public declaration, an exclamation of ones love for their partner. But for us, our love is ours, we are not so public. My wife and I got married on a Monday morning after taking our kids to school, because it is free to do so at this time in Rotterdam City Hall. We are not interested in marriage as an institution or the fuss and hassle of organizing friends and family. Our witnesses were two City Hall employees. To us, our love is for each other and needs no public act for confirmation. Displaying my love for my wife in this smallest of ways, not even visible to the naked eye to me conveys more meaning: not screaming it from the top of my lungs but gently whispering it.

"My work is about the essence of graffiti. Or actually even text in our public domain in general. But it also questions the concept of presence. Does something really take place if you cannot perceive it?"

PSV Eindhoven Football Club was founded as Philips Elftal by workers of the Philips Light Bulb factory on 12th December 1910.
The first kit was a wine red shirt with a white collar and black shorts. Bought by Anton Philips, the patron of the club. His 5 year old son Frits Philips kicked off the first match at the Frederiklaan on 15th January 1911.
Philips Elftal joined the new sport club PSV in 1913. The club colours have always been red and white and the home ground was always right here since the start on 12-12-1910.

If anyone wants to declare me, I try to explain myself. And that's it! I ' m not even an artist, I am a versatile and ironically provocative avant-garde existentialist with an abstract instinct. Simply said Creactive Bastard.

Since the second century AD wearing an amulet with the word Abracadabra written in the form of a triangle, was claimed, to ward off lethal diseases.
When used In ceremonial magic, Abracadabra becomes a magical formula that is believed to have specific supernatural effects. It is a word whose meaning illustrates degrees of understanding that are often difficult to relay using other forms of speech or writing, communicating very abstract information through the medium of word. Though Abracadabra has no intrinsic meaning itself, when deconstructed, each individual letter may refer to some universal concept found in the system that the formula appears

"Space for your advertisement" can be understood as a proposal to solve the problem of visual pollution by reducing ads to the nano size, so that the passers-by can choose if they want to see the content or not. At the same time, the idea of engraved advertisements into a physical space, even if on nano level, illustrates the root of capitalism in all disputes of modern society.
